Where you'll find us

Weddings

Priodasau

Nothing gets a wedding party going like a ceilidh/twmpath. We’ll get both families up and mixing, from the flower girls to the grandparents, and keep the floor full until the last dance.

Corporate Events

Digwyddiadau Corfforaethol

Forget awkward small talk. Dancing gets the whole team laughing, swinging and swapping partners, from new starters to the CEO. It’s team building that people actually enjoy, perfect for Christmas parties, conferences and company celebrations.

Birthdays & Celebrations

Penblwyddi & dathliadau

Big birthday, anniversary, retirement or just an excuse for a party? A ceilidh gets everyone off their seats and dancing together, whatever their age, and it makes for a night they’ll remember.

What you get

Top Tier musicians

Cerddorion Gorau

Professional musicians with hundreds of gigs under their belts, ready to get the whole crowd up and dancing.

we handle it all

Ni Sy’n Trefnu’r Cyfan

We take care of the whole ceilidh, from start to finish. We’re happy to deal with the venue directly or work everything out with you, so all you need to do is turn up and dance.

Professional Sound

Sain Broffesiynol

We bring our own professional PA and sound gear, so everything sounds great on the night.

Dance Calling

Galw’r Dawnsiau

Every dance is taught and called by our experienced caller. We walk everyone through the steps before the music starts, then keep calling as you go, so nobody gets lost and nobody gets left out. Never danced before? Perfect. You’ll pick it up in no time.

Full 6-piece band

Band Llawn o Chwech

Fiddle, clarinet, keys, guitar, bass and drums. Our six-piece line-up gives the old tunes a big, modern sound with all the drive of a live band. It’s our standard setup and the one we’d always recommend, bringing a fresh, full-band energy to every ceilidh and twmpath.

acoustic 4-piece band

Band Acwstig o Bedwar

Fiddle, clarinet, keys and guitar. Without the drums and bass guitar, our four-piece has a more traditional, acoustic-led sound. It’s lighter and mellower, but still plenty lively enough to keep everyone dancing, and it’s a lovely fit for smaller venues and more intimate events.

FAQs

What actually is a ceilidh (or twmpath)?

It's a big, friendly party built around group dancing. There's a live band and a caller who teaches each dance before the music starts. Then off you go, spinning, swapping partners and charging up and down the room. A twmpath is the Welsh version, with Welsh dances and plenty of hwyl.

Do we need to know how to dance?

Not at all. Every dance is taught and called, so complete beginners can join in from the first tune. If your crowd picks things up quickly, we'll add some trickier dances to keep it interesting.

Do we need a partner?

Nope! The beauty of a ceilidh or twmpath is that it's for the whole community. If you come on your own, there'll always be someone to dance with, and everyone swaps partners all night anyway. Lots of the dances are done in groups or circles too. Just come along and we'll sort you out.

Can we request dances?

Absolutely. Let us know your favourites and we'll make sure they're in the set. If it's not on our list, we're always happy to learn something new.

How long do you play for?

We usually play two 50-minute halves, but we're flexible and can fit around your event. If you'd rather have one long set, that's no problem.

What do you need from the venue?

We bring our own professional PA and sound gear, so all we need is somewhere to set up the band, access to power, and a good amount of space for dancing. We're happy to sort the details with the venue directly.

Do you travel outside South Wales?

Yes, we play all over the country. Get in touch with your date and location and we'll send you a quote.

How far in advance should we book?

Dates go quickly, especially for weddings, so we'd recommend booking at least a year ahead. That said, if we're free and there's enough notice, we'd love to play your event, so it's always worth asking.
